Research and projects around water cremation (ongoing)


Water cremation (also known as Resomation®) will soon be introduced as a new funerary method in the Netherlands. It is a process in which a body is dissolved in water with lye, leaving bone remains and a fluid residue, which can both be used as fertilizers.

During a residency and exhibition at the Werkwarenhuis (Den Bosch) I made the series Recomposed bodies, to reflect on the water cremated body first decomposing into it's basic elements in order to be recomposed in this case into plants
